Our Philosophy

The word Prangana means courtyard — a space of gathering, pause, light, and memory. It is not a style. It is a way of seeing design. A courtyard is not an empty space. In the Indian spatial tradition, it is the center of movement, light, family, and conversation. Every space we design — whether it is a restaurant, a home, a cafe, or a commercial interior — must have that same quality. An experience that draws people in, holds them, and leaves them with a memory.

Prangana draws from the spatial intelligence of Indian architecture — courtyards, stepwells, mandapas, thresholds, facades, proportions, light, material, and movement. These are not decorative references. They are design lessons about how people enter, pause, gather, sit, eat, talk, celebrate, and remember. We translate that intelligence into contemporary interiors that feel both modern and deeply rooted.

We do not apply styles. We build stories. Before we design any surface, we understand the space's purpose, its threshold, its movement logic, and its material life. We prefer stone, solid wood, terracotta, lime plaster, and metals that age with grace. We obsess over entry, light temperature, seating rhythm, and the feeling of arrival. Good design is remembered — through a wall, a corner, a material, or a pause.

Principal Designer

Rohit Pasalkar

Founder & Principal Designer

Rohit Pasalkar works at the intersection of interior design, Indian architectural heritage, hospitality experience, and cultural storytelling. His design approach is rooted in the belief that spaces are not neutral containers — they shape how people walk, sit, gather, eat, speak, work, celebrate, and remember.

He studies how Indian architecture has handled entry, pause, procession, light, shadow, symmetry, water, craft, climate, and gathering — and reinterprets those ideas for modern interiors. His creative language is especially relevant for cafes, restaurants, bars, hospitality environments, homes, and commercial spaces where identity matters.

Through Prangana, Rohit's design philosophy becomes a formal studio practice: Indian in its roots, contemporary in its execution, and practical in its delivery.

What we do

Interior Architecture

Spatial planning and layout design rooted in movement, threshold, and human experience. From the moment of entry to the quality of light in every corner, we design how a space feels before we decide how it looks.

Hospitality Interiors

Cafes, restaurants, bars, boutique hotels, and experience-led spaces designed from the food and facade outward. We bring concept, seating strategy, material, lighting, and identity into one cohesive story.

Turnkey Execution

End-to-end delivery from concept to handover — design development, material sourcing, site coordination, custom furniture, and final styling — so the built reality matches the original vision, every time.
